Weekly Review 19th April

Firstly we hope you and your family are well. It's another week down which hopefully means a step closer to some normality for us all. Despite the dramatic change in lifestyle, us at NEP are starting to adapt to our new roles and way of coaching. Never have we spent so many hours designing websites, editing videos and tuning into zoom meetings!

A big shout out must go to our NEP members who are banging out the miles and sessions right now. Our online community and strava group allows us all to keep in touch and track each others training. Many of you are trying out our S&C videos and competing in our running challenges to keep that fire burning through this tough period.

We didn't quite anticipate that the NEP5K would take off into such a competition! Many nights have been spent working out age grading scores but it's been totally worth it. We have a little under 100 participants in our league table which is getting even more competitive with a few new faces this week. Current results can be found on our events page.

With the success of our NEP5K we have decided to launch our Virtual May Mile today. Race the mile in the month of May and donate to Age UK. Entries are now live via this link: https://www.fullonsport.com/event/nep-may-mile/profile

We hope you are enjoying our Training videos and studies? There has been plenty of suggestions so far to keep us occupied but keep them flowing in. We take great pride in helping others and passing on our passion and knowledge. This week's studies have focused on heart rate zone training, drills, foot and ankle strengthening and plyometrics. Training videos can be accessed via our youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcS__hwUldH0JoWPVukQUyA?view_as=subscriber

There is a limited number of spaces left for our online training plans which offer a great opportunity to join the #NEPTEAM. Our training philosphy applies scientific concepts to help you reach your goals. With the loss of physical coaching an online coach might be what you need to stay on track and keep motivated right now. Please visit our training plans page for more information.

You are looking at it but our new website was launched this week!

The Coaches have been busy banging out the miles with Kieran finishing off a 70 mile week with a 17 mile long run across East Durham's version of the Alps! Ben has taken the more sensible approach this week after building back up from a long term injury. Nevertheless he completed a varied mix of sessions including a 1 mile time trial in 4:47!
